Christine L. (Stedman) Baer, 64, of 35 James St., a bank branch manager, died Wednesday, June 27, in UMass Memorial Medical Center -- Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a brief illness.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, Norman J. Baer; a son, John H. Baer of Millbury; two daughters, Valerie L. Paen of Leominster and Betty A. Herlihy of Milford, N.H.; five sisters, Corinne Hines and Priscilla Lockney, both of Lancaster, Nancy Carlisle of Boylston, Jean Heighton of Clinton and Miriam Hanna of Spring Hill, Fla.; three grandsons, several nieces and nephews. She was born in Clinton, daughter of Henry and Alice (Wadsley) Stedman, and lived in Lancaster before returning to Clinton many years ago. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1954.
Mrs. Baer was a branch manager at the Clinton-Athol Co-operative Bank for 21 years. She previously worked 18 years for Baer Distributors, and five years at the former Angie's Pub.
She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Clinton Turner Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and ceramics.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, in Church of the Good Shepherd, 209 Union St. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 29, Robert J. McNally Funeral Home, 304 Church St. Donations may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd, 209 Union St., Clinton, MA 01510.
