AUSTIN -- There will be a memorial service for Elizabeth "Betty" Burgeson at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary Chapel in Austin with the Rev. Robert A. Morgan officiating. There will be a private burial service at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Burgeson, 90, a resident of the Adams Heath Care Center in Adams, formerly of Austin, died Thursday (March 19, 1998) at the care center.
Elizabeth Steck was born Sept. 20, 1907, in St. Louis and graduated from high school in Fairmont, Minn., in 1925. After graduating from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Faribault, Minn., in 1927, she moved to Austin and was employed at St. Olaf Hospital and St. Olaf Hospital School of Nursing. In June 1933, he married Clarence ``Burgy'' Burgeson. He died in 1972. Mrs. Burgeson was a member of First Congregational Church, Chapter BZ of the PEO Sisterhood and the Austin Floral Club. She was an avid gardener and golfer.
Survivors include a son, David of St. Paul; and a brother, Eugencq Stechcq of Berkeley, Calif. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call half an hour before the service Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Chapter BZ of the PEO Sisterhood.
