Daughter of Solomon and Catherine (Rusmisel) Staubus. She was the second wife of John H. Stephenson, married on 31 Jan 1900 in McLean Co, Illinois.

Obituary -
Mrs. John H. Stephenson died at 10:15 Tuesday night after an illness of about a week. Her condition had been very serious and six physicians had been in consultation, but medical skill was unavailing.

Annie Susan Staubus was born May 29, 1867, and had resided in Danvers all her life. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Staubus, of Dry Grove. She was married to Mr. John Stephenson, president of the First National Bank of Danvers, January 31, 1900.

To this union was born four children, two of whom died in infancy; Mary Evallne, aged one year and twenty-seven days, and a baby born October 26. Mrs. Stephenson was one of a family of eight, the others being, Martha, the first wife of John Stephenson and who died some y ears ago; N. D. Staubus of Dry Grove; Augusta wife of Alpheus Munsell, of Dry Grove; Fannie Kemp, of Iowa; Maggie Ferry, of Gowrie, la.; Samuel C. Staubus, of Dry Grove and Mrs. Samuel Elkins, of Dry Grove.

She is also survived by Hugh D. Stephenson, her husband’s son by his first wife.

Mrs. Stephenson had been a member of C. P. Church in Danvers since she was a child. She was a woman of charming traits, and each of her acquaintances and they are legion, was a warm friend, and her death will be sincerely mourned by all. Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson but a few years ago moved into a handsome residence, erected in this city at a cost of $12,000 and the untimely removal of the gracious mistress of the beautiful home, makes her death unusually sad.
