The youngest of five children of Christian Stauber, Sr. and Ida M. Albrecht Stauber Haglage, John Christian Stauber was born November 17, 1889 in Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio. He had four full siblings and five younger half siblings. Christian was a cabinet maker who married Christine Simon Stauber on June 05, 1920 in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in Newport, Campbell County, Kentucky. They had six children: Christian ("Chris") Henry Stauber, Ida Mae Stauber Jacobs, Ruth Ann Stauber Elsbernd, Jeannette Catherine Stauber Heileman, Leo ("Lee") William Stauber, and Mary Margaret Stauber Donnelly and lived in Newport. Christian met Christine through a co-worker who was her uncle (her mother's brother). He died on August 7, 1935 at age 45 of cardiac fibulation at Spears Hospital, Dayton, Campbell County. His youngest child, Mary, was only one year old at the time. He is buried next to his beloved wife Christine in Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wilder, Campbell County. His ancestry was German.
