Graveside services for Elsie Marie Starrett, 93, of Crosbyton will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Crosbyton Cemetery with the Rev. Lester Griffin officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Crosbyton.

She died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2002.

She was born Jan. 22, 1909, in Johnson City, Ill. She married Carl L. Starrett in 1955 in Silver City, N.M. He died July 21, 1970. She was a reporter for the Marion Democrat as a teenager until she graduated from Carbondale High School. She was a manager and purchaser for the Dottie Exclusive Dress Shop until 1954. She moved to Crosbyton in 1990 from Silver City and was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marion, Ill., a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Tyrone, N.M., St. Mary´s Hospital Auxiliary in Lubbock and the Business and Professional Ladies Club.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lena Givens; and several nieces and nephews.
