Piano teacher and fruit stand owner Frances Lee Starling, 92, of Gleason, died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway Funeral Home. Floyd "Lammie" Lammersfeld will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Paris.

Pallbearers will be: Dean and David Davis, Johnny and Ashton Salmon, Randall Allen, Nick Stewart, and Troy and Rubin Poff.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at Ridgeway.

Starling was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Springville, to the late Ira and Una Graham Riggs.

She married Dorcie Cleveland Starling in 1938, who preceded her in death on March 31, 1971.

She was a member of Tumbling Creek Baptist Church near Gleason and worked at Dairy Queen in McKenzie for more than 30 years

She owned fruit stands for several years in Paris, Camden, and Murray. She formerly worked at Salant and Salant in Union City.

A family member said she was a talented pianist and taught piano for many years, and she enjoyed quilting, painting, cooking and flying.

She is survived by two daughters: Pat Salmon of Gleason, and Dorsie Lee (Dorris) Allen of Pilot Oak, Ky.; two sons: Norman "Drag" (Martha) Starling and John Starling, both of Gleason;

Six grandchildren: Dean Davis and special friend, Lisa Haggard, Dawn, Bo and Johnny (Christie) Salmon, Randall (Annette) Allen, and Lori Ann Starling;

Six great-grandchildren: David (Summer) Davis, Caitlyn, Ashton and Kyleigh Salmon, and Jennifer and Amanda Allen; and two great-great-granchildren: Nevaeh Davis and Wyatt Stewart; and a cousin: Wayne (Nancy) Graham.

She also was preceded in death by a sister: Dottie Riggs.
