Rupert Starling, 48, of Walnut Ridge, died Thursday at the home of his brother near Clover Bend. He was a retired machine operator at V and B Manufacturing Co. Born in Delaplaine, he also had lived in Hoxie, Clover Bend and Smithville before moving to Walnut Ridge four months ago.
Survivors include one brother, Fred Starling of Clover Bend; seven sisters, Oneda Sullinger of Walnut Ridge, Ovedia Beck and Joan Lambert, both of Rockford, Ill., Kay Wright of Hoxie, Portia Gaither of El Paso, Texas, Joyce Bliss of Cherry Valley, Ill., and Oretta Starling of Rock Falls, Ill.
Graveside services will be at 10 Monday morning at Lawrence Memorial Park, with A.J. Stracener officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park, under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 Sunday evening at the funeral home.
