Dale Staples Mead passed away surrounded by her loving family Jan. 29, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dale was born Aug. 14, 1952. She grew up in Whitman, graduated from Whitman Hanson Regional high School in 1970 and attended Boston State College. Dale also graduated from Clown College bringing much joy to many. She worked at the Foxboro Company. John Denver's music inspired Dale and her sister Dawn to move to Colorado, where she met and married her husband Gaylon and raised their five children. She leaves her husband Gaylon; her children, Tucker, Tyler, Tristan, Trevor and Tara Mead; and her grandchildren, Edana, Eleena and Josiah Mead, all of Colorado Springs, Colo. She was the loving daughter of the late Elmer Jr. and Adrienne Staples. She leaves her sisters, Darlene Staples, Dawn Sadler, Dianne Figgins; her niece, Amy Kenealy; her nephews, Robert and Scott Figgins and Grant Sadler; and her aunt, Elizabeth DiMestico, all of Whitman. Her memorial service will be held Feb. 18, 2011, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
