Delbert O. Stanturf
Delbert O. Stanturf, 87, a resident of 1423 Lulu St., Trenton, died Saturday evening, Dec. 21,1991, at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today at Resthaven Mortuary in Trenton. The Rev. Richard Wilson officiated.
Special music was provided by Ed Holt, who sang "One Day at a Time," and "The Old Rugged Cross," Jackie Gibler played the organ accompaniment.
Pallbears were Larry Moore, Charles Spurgeon, George Gott, Bill Gott, Richard Whitt, and Dick Whitt.
Burial was in the Pine Cemetery, south of Princeton.
Mr. Stanturf was born Sept. 26, 1904 in Mercer County, M0., the son of Thomas and Anna Josephine Washburn Stanturf. He was married to Gertrude Frakes on Sept. 4, 1935 in Trenton.
Mr. Stanturf lived in Mercer County most of his life. He lived in Bethany for some time before moving to Trenton seven years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude, of the home; four daughters, Keairon Stanturf and Christina Stanturf, both of Cave Spring, AR., Susie Moore of Lamoni, Iowa. And Marilyn Newlon of Kinderhook, IL.; two sons, J.C. Stanturf of Gilman City, and Mike Stanturf of Davis City, Iowa; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces, including Wanda Trott of Lynn, Mass., whom Mr and Mrs. Stanturf helped raise.
Besides his parents, Mr. Stanturf was proceeded in death by his sister and brother and one granddaughter.
Farmer, Carpenter, Roofer, Mechanic. Enjoyed gardening.
5 ft 11 in, slender, black hair, blue eyes.
