Birth: Feb. 7, 1740
Death: Jan. 22, 1782

The daughter of Thomas & Hepzibah (Merrill) Seymour, she was the wife of William Stanley and died at 42 years of age.
Their children:
Child died Nov. 7, 1767; buried in Center Church Graveyard
Child died July 17, 1778 ae 5; buried in the Center Church Graveyard

Ruth Stanley preceded her husband in death and there was no issue living when William died. In his will, he gave a silver tankard to the South Church; 12 acres of land on the west side of Hog River to his niece, Elizabeth Whitman; and to his sister, Abigail Whitman wife of Rev. Elnathan Whitman, he gave the use of the remainder of his estate. After Rev. Whitman's death, this large estate was bequeathed to the South Church in Hartford.
