Funeral services for the Rev. Oscar F. Stanford, 59, of Tucumcari, will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday in the First Baptist Church of Clovis. Burial also will be here.
Mr. Stanford died at 9:24 PM Tuesday in a nursing home at Tucumcari following a year's illness.
He had lived in Tucumcari where he was pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church, until his resignation in August, for three years. Prior to that he had lived in Clovis and had been employed by the Santa Fe Railway for 21 years.
Mr. Stanford is survived by his wife, Rena; two children, Kim Stanford of Tucumcari, and Mrs. Shirley Richner of Spokane, WA; six grandchildren.
Also his father, R. P. Stanford, Clovis; three brothers, Truman and Lawrence of Belen, and Isaac Stanford of Clovis; and one sister, Mrs. John Conner, Clovis.
There will be a funeral Friday morning in Tucumcari.
