Irene McFarland, 86, of Dalton, Ga., died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Hamilton Medical Center.
Irene was born July 3, 1924 in Williamsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late Cecil and Rose Zella Stanfill; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McFarland; and sister, Dorothy Sullivan.
She was a member of City View Church of God.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat Colston; son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Cathy Sullivan; grandsons, Alex and Nick Sullivan all of Dalton; and sister, Evalee Roaden of Corbin, Ky.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Irene McFarland will be held Wednesday, March 30, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Hart Funeral Home in Corbin, Ky. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the Ponders Funeral Home and 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at the Hart Funeral Home in Corbin, Ky.
Arrangements will be announced by locally owned and operated Ponders Funeral Home.
