Kannapolis, NC- Cenoma Stamey Bost, age 60, of 5796 Turner Drive, died Monday, March 30, 2009 at her home after a serious illness of 5 months.

She was born July 4, 1948 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Frank Stamey and Trollie Mills Stamey.

In earlier years she worked for the former Cannon Mills Co. Plt.#1 & Plt.#6 for 23 years and later with Pass & Seymour/Legrand, Concord, NC for 15 years until early retirement due to her illness.

She was a devout Christian and an active member of Corriher Heights Baptist Church, China Grove, NC where she sang in the choir. In earlier years she was active with West A Tabernacle Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC.

The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at Corriher Heights Baptist Church, China Grove, NC officiated by Rev. Chris Pethel. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis, NC. Her body will also be taken to lie in state at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Wednesday prior to the service.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Billy R. Bost; two sons, Keith W. Bost & wife, Nancy of Landis, NC and Michael S. Bost & wife, Tishua of Vale, NC; one daughter, Shanon Bost McIntyre & husband, Scott of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; five grandchildren, Matthew McIntyre, Derick McIntyre, Tifanie Bost, Chasity Bost, and Megan Bost; four sisters, Frankie Veronica Kee of Kannapolis, NC, Mary Hartness of Wilkesboro, NC, Pauline Finley of Illinois, and Shelvie Topher of West Palm Beach, FL.

Memorials may be made to Corriher Heights Baptist Church, 1980 N.C. Highway 153, China Grove, NC 28023.
