Mrs. Ida Staggs Applegate, only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Staggs, and cherished wife of Leander Applegate. She was born Feb. 9, 1877, married Oct. 3, 1897, died Feb. 25, 1902, preceded a few hours by the soul of her infant son, whose eyes never opened to the joys and sorrows of this life. Both were interred side by side in the Presbyterian Cemetery on Feb. 26, after a most intelligent and deeply impressive talk made by Mr. Samuel Baldwin of the Christian Church in Plevna, of which Mrs. Applegate was a faithful member.
