In the May 21 -22, 1900 U.S. census, one-week-old Louis Stack, b. in Kansas, was living in Logan (Kinsley), Edwards, Kansas with his
36 yr. old father, Albert, a farmer, b. July 1863 in Germany
25 yr. old mother, Lena, b. June, 1874 in IL.
7 yr. old sister, Edith, b. Mar., 1893 in KS.
5 yr. old brother, Edward, b. Aug. 1894 in KS.
4 yr. old sister, Alma, b. Apr. 1896

Albert was b. in Germany of German parents. Lena was b. in Illinois of German parents and spoke German. All the children were b. in Kansas. This was the first marriage for Albert and Lena and they had been marr. 18 yrs. Lena was the mother of eight children, all still alive.
In his Sept. 12, 1918 WWI Draft Registration Card, 18 yr. old Louis Stack, b. May 15, 1900, was living in Kinsley, Edward, Kansas. He was engaged in farming, employed by Ed Stack. His nearest relative was listed as Albert Stack. Louis was described as being of medium height and build, with light blue eyes and light brown hair.
In the 1920 U.S. census, 19 yr. old Louis Stack, b. in KS., was single and living in Kinsley, Edwards, Kansas as a boarder in the home of Theodore Putter & family. Theodore owned a threshing outfit and Louis was working as a laborer for the telephone company. Louis' father was born in Pomerania, Germany.
On Jun. 22, 1922, Louis married Blanche Viola Moore in Kinsley, Edwards, Kansas.
