Mr. Staab, of Aurora, Colorado, was a civilian contracting officer with the U.S. Army Material Command.

Fidelis R. Staab, died Oct. 31, 2004 in Hays. He was born March 14, 1917 in Catherine to Alexander C. and Catherine (Schuetz) Staab.

He married Thelma Lurena Lilly on Jan. 9, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Aurora, Colo.; his sons, Thomas Staab and his wife, Janet, Franktown, Colo., and Robert Staab, Omaha, Neb.; three grandchildren, Stacey L. Vogler and her husband, James, Murfreesburo, Tenn., Kevin Staab and his wife, Stephanie, Omaha, Neb., and Brenda Staab, Omaha.

He was preceded in death by brothers, James Staab, Charles Cecil Staab, Frank Staab, Ludwig Staab, Alphonse Staab, Leopold Staab and Felix Staab, a sister, Felicitas Staab, and a daughter-in-law, Janice Staab, Omaha, Neb.

Burial in the church cemetery.
