FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FRIDAY FOR MRS. LOLA CARMER
Funeral services for Mrs. Lola Carmer of Malcom, who died Tuesday evening in the University hospital in Iowa City, were held Friday afternoon from the James Funeral Home in charge of Rev. W.B. Wilson. Music was provided by Mrs. Roscoe Dempster and Mrs. D.E. Miller. Pall bearers were Melvin Inman, Emmett Inman, Harold Inman, Sherman Gilbert, Max Gilbert and Gene Gilbert. Interment was made in Hazelwood cemetery.
Lola Irene Squire, daughter of Arthur and Lillie Squire, was born Nov. 22, 1903, on a farm west of Newburg, and passed away in the University hospital in Iowa City, June 17, 1947 at the age of 43 years, 6 months, and 26 days.
On March 16, 1921 she was united in marriage with Vinton Carmer.
As a girl she lived on a farm west of Grinnell. After her marriage she spent most of her years in the vicinity of Grinnell and Montezuma. She was a member of the West Liberty Church of Christ west of Montezuma.
Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her loss her mother, two sisters, Mrs. Ross Swartz, and Mrs. Clarence Doud of Grinnell, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father in 1942.
