Mrs. Marian Squibb Cofield, widow of George Cofield, died early this morning at the Hanover Nursing Center following a long illness. She was 93.
She was a native of Ohio County, but has lived in Madison for the last 66 years. Her husband was a partner in the former Cofield-Barber Grocery Company until it was sold in the early 1940's. His death was in 1958.
Mrs. Cofield was a graduate of Aurora High School. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by two sons: Sidney, Madison, and Hilbert, a captain in the Navy now serving at Pensacola, Fla., a daughter, Mrs. Georgine Fisher, Albuquerque, N. Mex., nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Gans Funeral Home with burial in Springdale Cemetery. Eastern Star services will be at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon tomorrow.
