Obituary
KERRVILLE — Mrs. M. Margaret Guy, 83, of Kerrville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in a Kerrville nursing center. Margaret was born Aug. 12, 1920, in West Mifflin, Pa., to Herbert Leslie Sprowls and Nellie Mae Berry Sprowls. She married Edward Guy on April 18, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Margaret attended Trevecca Nazarene College in Nashville, Tenn., for two years. She graduated from Homestead Hospital School of Nursing, Homestead, Pa,, in 1942. She became a registered nurse the same year and was assigned head nurse of Women's Medical/Surgical unit. During World War II, she served as evening charge nurse at Lejing-In Hospital in Oxnard, Calif. She had been a resident of Kerrville since 1967. She served as Director of Nurses of Hilltop Nursing Home before serving as head nurse at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital. After 13 years, she retired as evening RN supervisor at Kerrville State Hospital with a total of 46 years in nursing.
