Ida Sprott was born near Hillsboro, Iowa, August 23, 1866, and died at her home in Hillsboro, March 21, 1915, in her 49th year. She was united in marriage to Eugene Bryson, Sept. 15, 1891. Two sons blessed this union, Samuel Dee and Pitt Foss.
The bereaved husband and two sons together with an aged mother, five brothers, two sister, two little adopted daughters, Etta and Retta and one infant grandson, William Eugene Bryson, survive to bear the loss of the faithful companion, loving sister and fond mother. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to them in their bereavement and we feel keenly the loss of our friend.
Mrs. Bryson was a woman of high moral idea, with depth and breadth of character which all her friends recognized. Keenly penetrating and comprehensive in all here judgments, she commanded the respect of all who knew her.
Her home was her temple of worship, the hearts of those who needed her help the altar upon which she offered the sweet incense of a loving service. Averse to pomp and display, a lover of simple life, she chose "to live in a house, by the side of the road where the race of men go by."
While a liberalist in her views, she was deeply sympathetic and kind, always emphasizing the religion of good works and her life was a constant rebuke to a careless professor.
She was one of the most highly respected and best beloved women of the community. Friend, who have often seen her eyes fill with teas as she spoke of the sorrow and suffering of others, will miss her kindly smile and congenial friendship.
