Lu is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Springer; children, Kim (Jeff) Weed, Julia Springer, Ellen Young and Eric (Abby) Springer; seven grandchildren, Monica, Jeremy, Madeline, Caleb, Skye Anne, Eli and Jonah; three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Evie and Molly. She was one of eleven children and only one sister survives, Ruth Karns.
Lu was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters.
There will be a funeral service for Lu at Bible Baptist Church, 2635 South Dixon Road Kokomo, Indiana, at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 with Pastors Bill Carmichael and Keith Treadway officiating. Following the funeral service, Lu will be laid to rest in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo. All of Lu’s friends and family are welcome to join together for a time of visitation from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana.
