Vera May Springen, 58, passed away at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette, Sunday, Aug. 13, after a lingering illness.
She was born in Lewiston, Idaho on Dec. 1, 1913 to Fred and Elizabeth Foster. She grew up and made her home in that community and worked as a cook in construction camps.
On July 5, 1945 she was married to Herman H. Springen in Reno, Nev. They made their home in Oregon and Idaho until they moved to Gillette in May of 1968.
She is survived by her husband, Herman of Gillette, one son Arnold of Moses Lake, Wash. and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 16, 10am, at the Noecker Funeral Home Chapek with the Rev. Harry Hurt officiating.
Burial was made in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette.
Organist was Louise Dickey and soloist was LaVern Harrod. Selections included "Lead Kindly Light" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
Pallbearers were Ivan Romanjenko, Kenneth Revland, Paul Stuart, Virgil Gilson, A.D. Gaddis and Kenneth Anderson.
Noecker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
