"THE DEATH ROLL. -- Henry Spring. Henry Spring, one of the oldest and best known citizens of this community died very suddenly this morning at the family residence, No. 20 South Eighth Street, of rheumatism of the heart. The announcement of his death came as a shock and surprise to his most intimate friends. The deceased had for years been a sufferer from rheumatism and had only been able to get around with the aid of crutches. He was confined to his home several days before his death with an attack of bronchial trouble, but it was not thought to be serious until signs of rheumatism of the heart developed. It was only about two hours before his death that he became much worse and then all medical aid was useless. His life went out peacefully. Mr. Spring was 61 years old and has for many years past been city weighing master. He was known to nearly every farmer in the county and by those and acquaintances in the city was held in highest esteem. He was a kind and indulgent father and husband and his death will cast a heavy shadow over a pleasant home. He leaves the following children, besides the widow, to mourn his death: Mrs. Henry Anderson, of the Wea; Mrs. William L. Horn, of this city, and Robert Spring, of Indianapolis."
