Carol R. Bartlett, 73, of Steubenville formerly of Springfield, MA, died Sat., Jan. 18, 2003 in Magee Woman's Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born Sept. 8, 1929 in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth Sweeney Sprenger. She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Bittner and a brother, First Lt. Robert Sprenger, USMC. Carol is survived by her brother, Father Alan Sprenger of Columbus; a sister, Doris Banfield of Kirkland, WA; three sons and two daughters; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Carol was employed by the Milton Bradley Co. in E. Longmeadow, MA for 25 years and spent her retirement nurturing her family. She was a devolved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved volunteering at school and church functions as a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and it's Catholic Woman's Club. Carol was especially proud of her collection of angel figures which greeted all who entered her home.

Calling hours are Monday at the Mosti Funeral Home, Steubenville, with a funeral liturgy with Mass Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the local cancer society.
