Mrs. Ethel Catherine Sprankle, wife of Philip Sprankle of Peterburg, died in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, 1945. She had been a patient in the hospital one day.
She was born in Fulton County on April 13, 1910, the daughter of Milburn Axon and Anna Cromer Axon, both of whom are deceased. Surviving are her husband and four children, all at home; Clair, Vera, Donna Lee and Betty. Also surviving are three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Reba Zaagman, Muskegon, Mich.; Mrs Donald Fisher, Huntingdon R. D.; Mrs. Alva Smith, Dudley; Thomas Axon, Detroit, Mich.; and Wilbert Axon of Baltimore, Md.
She had been a resident of Huntingdon the greater part of her life.
The funeral service will be held at the Temple funeral home in Petersburg on Tuesday at 2:30. the Rev. Norman R. Wagner officiating. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
