Mary A. Mertens, age 77, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on October 3, 2012.
One of six children, she was born in Darlington, SC on December 31, 1934 to Albert Edward Sports and Ida Jordan Sports.
Mary is survived by her husband, Jerry Waugh; her daughters, Gwen Edwards of Douglasville, GA, and Tina Fagan of Roswell, GA; and her sister, Louise Carter Dixon of Darlington, SC. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jill Fernandez, Brian Fagan, Taylor York, and Caroline Fagan, her two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary retired from a career at AT&T in Human Resources. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Northside Chapel, Roswell, GA. A private family service and interment is planned for Sunday, October 7 at 1pm at Green Lawn Cemetery, Roswell, GA.
