Violet, a 1937 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School in Monroe, LA, was the daughter of Victor "Buck" and Ada Spillers. She was the first wife of Will Faulk Hooter; they were married in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. Their three children are Billie Jean Hooter, Robert Dean "Bobby" Hooter and Fred Edward "Freddie" Hooter. Violet died of blood poison in the hospital a few days after Freddie was born. Freddie was raised by Violet's parents. My father helped dig her grave, which was the first grave, in Bosco Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Oscar Hooter wanted to name the cemetery Violet Cemetery.
