LaVeta was the daughter of Gladys Chriswell and Elmer Spencer. She had 4 brothers: Michael, Ronald, Harold and Doug Spencer. She was married to Roger Berry and had 2 daughters: Lisa Dawn Berry and Terisa Ann Berry Montgomery. She has 3 grandsons: Morgan Paul Masters & Spencer Clayton Coty Masters (children of Lisa) Ben Tyler Colt Montgomery (son of Terisa)
She died after a long spell of illnesses. She was diagnosed with Lyme's disease in 1994 which was in the last stages before discovered and on Dec.16,1995 suffered two anurisms of the brain. She lived 9 days after the anurisms in ICU and had surgery on one of them. Christmas Day was our last day we had with her before she went into a coma and died of complications due to swelling of the brain.
