Mary E. (Spencer) Beabout, 80, died at 2:45 PM Saturday, April 27, 2002, at her home; she had been ill the past four years.

Born Sept. 28, 1921, in Frankfort, she formerly lived at Rossville and had lived in Lafayette for the past 11 years.

She married William Louis Beabout on Oct. 14, 1950, in Lafayette; he died July 24, 1992. Mrs. Beabout was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, camping, cooking and fishing.

Surviving are a daughter, Dinah L. Karger of Lafayette; two brothers, Steve Spencer and Bill Spencer, both of Lebanon; and a sister, Louise Spencer of Kokomo; 4 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ariel Fern Strong.
