Lavinia was the daughter of the Charles Bingham, 1st Earl of Lucan. She married George John Spencer, 2nd Earl Spencer in 1781. To this union nine children were born;

1. John Charles Spencer, 3rd Earl Spencer (17821845)
2. Lady Sarah Spencer (17871870), married William Lyttelton, 3rd Baron Lyttelton and had issue.
3. Hon. Richard Spencer (17891791), died in infancy.
4. Captain Hon. Sir Robert Cavendish Spencer (17911830), died unmarried.
5. Hon. William Spencer (b. & d. 1792), died in infancy.
6. Lady Harriet Spencer (b. & d. 1793), died in infancy.
7. Lady Georgiana Charlotte Spencer (17941823), married George Quin, son of Thomas Taylour, 1st Marquess of Headfort and had issue.
8. Vice-Admiral Sir Frederick Spencer, 4th Earl Spencer (17981857)
9. Very Reverend Hon. George Spencer (17991864), died unmarried.

Lady Spencer died in June 1831, aged 68.
