After her child was born, out in the wilderness of Northern Allegany County, (later Garrett Go) Maryland she said that she would not have any more children. Her father William Chambers was a woodsman and miner who wanted to have more children. He was in the home in the census of 1850, but it has been said that he moved to Lonaconing near Cumberland and had more children. Elizabeth Chambers and William Speicher were divorced and she lived with her daughter Louisa all of her life. It has been said that her son-in-law, George Bittinger treated her with respect. George Anderson Bittinger and his wife Louisa had about 10 children. Louisa was a hard working farmers wife and mother. She helped on the farm and in the home.
Louisa Speicher Bittinger died about 1890. it is thought she may have been buried in the burial plot up the hill from the house. Family links: Spouse: George Anderson Bittinger (1837 - 1905)
