Phil attended David Lipscomb College, Southern Illinois University and Abilene Christian University, receiving an academic degree in theology and going on to preach in Churches of Christ in Grant, Alabama; Harrisburg, Illinois; Trent, Texas; and Rockvale and BonAqua, Tennessee.
He was 77 years old when he passed away on March 13, 2016.
Survivors included his wife; a married son; married daughter; two sisters; a brother; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services were held at Woodlawn Roesch-Patton Funeral Home[, and burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park].
