Mrs. Mabel Jean Spearman Brown, age 76, of Teachey, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at Duplin General Hospital in Kenansville. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. today at Little Pin Hook Cemetery, Teachey. Rev. Ronald Ginn will conduct the service. Padgett Funeral Home is serving the family.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nancy Brice and husband Phil of Castle Hayne; two brothers, George Spearman, Jr. and wife Mary of Wallace and James Spearman and wife Nellie of Teachey; several nieces and nephews and two special children, Nancy Davis and Keith Norris and two special grandchildren, Bailey Davis and Jenna Davis. She is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Florence B. Pigford of Hampton, VA.
Born in Bladen County, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of the late George Spearman, Sr. and Lola Horrell Spearman Brinkley. Her husband, George T. Brown, and her brother, Harvey L. Spearman, also preceded her in death.
