Mrs. Peacock was born in Gardiner on Jan. 5, 1934, the daughter of James and Elizabeth Spearin. She attended Gardiner schools and spent her life as a homemaker and active member of her community.
After retiring with her husband, Merle, she relocated to Florida and continued to enjoy visits from loved ones. She loved to make new friends, and she often spent her days riding her bicycle and stopping to catch up with neighbors.
Mrs. Peacock is predeceased by her parents, James and Elizabeth Spearin, of South Gardiner; and her brother, Richard. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Merle E. Peacock Jr., of Zephyrhills; daughter Sharon Millett and her husband, Win, of Zephyrhills; daughter Donna Mathias and husband, Craig, of Ashland, Mass.; son Brian Peacock and wife Sharon of Mount Vernon, Maine; brother Rodney Spearin and wife Linda of Gardiner; grandchildren Amy, Eric, Tod, Ross, Stephanie, and Kaitlynn; two great-grandchildren Ashlyn and Addison; and many nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held at the family lot in Cherry Hill Cemetery, West Gardiner. (Kennebec Journal 9/29/2011)
