RULE -- Maurice Boles, 79, of Rule, died on Thursday, February 5, 2004 at a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Rule with Bill Trice and Billy Sellers officiating. Burial will follow at Rule Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Robison Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at McCauley-Robison Funeral Home in Rule on Friday, February 6, 2004 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Mrs. Boles was born on December 8, 1924 in Franklin County, Texas, the daughter of Felix Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Davis Sparks. She married H.L. "Cooter" Boles on July 3, 1942 in Scroggins, Texas. In 1951, they moved from East Texas to Jud. In 1953 they moved to Old Glory where they farmed and they lived there until 1977. In 1977, they moved to Rule. Mrs. Boles was a farmer with her husband. She was the "World's Greatest Mom" and her family came first in her life.
She is survived by her husband, H.L. "Cooter" Boles of Rule; five children, Mary Boles Houston and husband, Sam of Youngsville, Louisiana, Donald Wayne Boles and wife Anita of Lewisville, Texas, Francell Boles Hamlett of Green Cove Springs, Florida, Rickey Dean Boles and wife, Gail of Abilene, and Cynthia Boles Harrison and husband Steve of Lubbock; sister, Bennie Ruth Peckham of Scroggins, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Roy Lynn; two brothers, Troy Sparks and Buford "Boots" Sparks.
