R. C. SPARKS, COUNTY BOARD MEMBER, DIES

Robert C. Sparks, 66, of 2109 Fairway Drive, a member of the Sangamon County Board of Supervisors, died today at Rochester, Minn. He represented Capital Township on the board.

Mr. Sparks had retired after 30 years with the state government, serving his last eight years as assistant director of the Department of Public Works and Buildings. At the time of his death, he was a salesman for Gail M. Wanless Realtor.

A resident of Springfield for 25 years, Mr. Sparks was born at Liberty. He was a member of the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Benevolent Lodge 52 AF & AM, Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine, Elks and Sertoma.

Surviving are his wife, the former Rosalie B. Lashbrook; two daughters, Mrs. Earl J. Fleetwood of Springfield and Mrs. Jack Burke of Chatham; one nephew, Al Swetman of Springfield and five grandchildren.

Smith Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
