Funeral services were held at Sandy Creek Christian church at Kedron on Monday March 5, 1945 for John Watson Sparks. Burial was in the Trexler cemetery. The Rev A. O. Jacobs officiated.
Mr. Sparks died Saturday March 3rd at the home of his son, Raymond Sparks in North Muddy township near Kedron. He was born in Jasper county December 5, 1857, a son of John And Elizabeth Sparks, and had been a life long resident of this county. He leaves nine sons and two daughter behind: James Henry of Atwood, IL; Oscar Adolph, Watson, Charles , Raymond, Lola (Sparks) Jourdan of Newton; Eli, Harry, Ross and Chris Sparks of Ithaca, Michigan; and Dollie (Sparks) Brackett of Marine; forty-four grandchildren and many other relative and friends. Three brothers and six sisters preceded him in death
