Lois Ruth (Spangler) Bair, of Gettysburg and formerly of Littlestown and Hanover, passed peacefully April 29, 2011. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. (Doc) Bair, Jr., who died on June 18, 1965.
Born September 29, 1925, in Littlestown, she was the daughter of John and Minnie (Palmer) Spangler.
Mrs. Bair was a 1945 graduate of Littlestown High School where she also retired, after being employed in the Administrative offices at the Middle School.
She also was a gifted pianist. During her school years, she was the accompaniest for all the musicals, operettas and other events at school. She entertained family and friends her whole life with her beautiful music.
Lois' greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Littlestown.
Lois is survived by four daughters, Connie Bair, Betty Heltibridle, Audrey Neiderer and Christine Mummert; five grandchildren, Stephanie Foreman Sellers, Michael Foreman, Andrew Heltibridle, Jennifer Mummert Jarrett and Nicholas Mummert; two great-grandchildren; her sister, June Rife of Hanover; and brother, Oscar Spangler of Arizona.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Myles and Raymond Spangler.
A funeral service will be May 3, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Little's Funeral Home, Littlestown, with Chaplain Carol Wantz of Green Acres officiating. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.
