Mrs. Beatrice Spangler Kline Bortner, 68, wife of Ervin M. Bortner, Spring Grove, died Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George F. Kline, York, where she resided for 11 weeks following an illness of three months.
Her first husband, Roy G. Kline, died in 1945. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Edna Reiffe Spangler.
Surviving besides her husband is an additional son, Roy kline Jr., Hanover; four grandchildren, 10 step children, Clyde E. Bortner, 903 Hanover Road, York; Edward T. Bortner, Glen Rock; David P. Bortner, Thomasville; Mrs. John Fisher, Glen Rock; Mrs. Edgar Madison, Seven Valleys; Mrs. Gerald Hess, York; Mrs. Glenn Shupp, New Oxford; Mrs. Vincent Stevenson, Manchester; Mrs. James Murray, Emigsville and Mrs. Robert Dowers, Allentown; 37 step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; a brother, William R. Spangler, Hanover; a sister, Mrs. John H. Bowman, Hanover and a number of nieces and nephews. She was a member of Immanuel Missionary Church, Spring Grove.
Funeral services Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Sauter Funeral Home, Spring Grove, with her pastor, the Rev. Allen A McVey, will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hanover.
