OBITUARY: YORK Anne Blevins, 75, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at York Hospital. She was the wife of William W. Blevins, whom she married March 21, 1958. A funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Stewartstown United Methodist Church, 26 S. Main St., Stewartstown, with the Rev. David L. Brinker and the Rev. Dr. E. Gordon Ross officiating. A viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 19 S. Main St., Stewartstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Born April 14, 1932, in York, Anne was the daughter of the late James Ivan and Dora L. (Warner) Spangler. Anne was a teacher at Kennard-Dale High School, Fawn Grove, from 1954-1958 and enjoyed coaching cheerleading for the high school. She was proud to be one of the co-founders of the original Mason-Dixon Library in Stewartstown. Anne also worked as a newspaper reporter for almost 10 years for the York Daily Record and Record Advertiser. She also liked working as an antique dealer at several antique shops in Shrewsbury. Anne was a member of St. John (Sadler's) Lutheran Church and a member of the former Business Professional Women, Shrewsbury. Anne was an avid reader, loved dogs, animals, and adored children. She liked spending time in the family mountain home in Emporium and loved traveling. Anne is survived by two daughters, Carol A. Sentman and her husband, Louis, Jr., and Sarah J. Blevins, and one son, Michael A. Blevins, all of Stewartstown; one foster son, Frederick Biser of Seale, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Cadet Joseph Krick, Leanne Krick, Louis, III and Daniel Sentman, and Justin, Matthew, and William Brady Blevins. She is also survived by cousins and many good friends and by a cousin that was "like a sister ", Mary Alice Hodgson of York.
