Ethel S. Hopkins, 94, of Letort Manor in Carlisle, died Friday, June 1, 2007, in the Church of God Home, Carlisle.
Born on Dec. 29, 1912, in Paradise Township, York County, she was a daughter of the late Peter M. and Annie A. Henise Spangler.
On July 11, 1936, she married Clarence J. Hopkins, who preceded her in death on Sept. 23, 1991.
She was a 1936 graduate of the Shippensburg State Teachers College.
She was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God and the Loyalty Sunday School Class.
She is survived by her son, H. Kenneth Hopkins of Walnut Bottom; her daughter, Marjorie H. Shoap of Shippensburg; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy H. Spangler, and a sister, Helen S. Starr.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg. Officiating will be the Rev. Paul L. Tatum. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Church of God Home, Forever Caring Fund, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
