LAURA R. ROCHEFORD, 83
SHREWSBURY - Laura R. (Soulliere) Rocheford, 83, formerly of 39 Colton Lane, a senior drafting checker for 21 years and an accomplished artist, died Friday in Shrewsbury Nursing Home.
Her husband of 53 years, George E. Rocheford, died in 1992. She leaves several nephews and nieces, including Robert G. VanArsdalen Jr. of Northboro; grandnephews and grandnieces.
She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of Joseph H. and Flora (Bourdon) Soulliere, and lived many years in Syracuse, N.Y., and South Natick before moving here in 1982. She spent summers in South Chatham. She graduated from South High School in Worcester and took many courses in studio art.
Mrs. Rocheford was a senior drafting checker at Raytheon Co. for 21 years, retiring in 1972. She was previously a draftsman at Gamewell Fire Alarm Systems Co. in Syracuse.
Mrs. Rocheford was an accomplished artist, working in oils and watercolors. She was also skilled in knitting and crocheting.
The funeral will be held Tuesday from Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent, or memorial contributions made to a charity.
