Eli Sons, 77, who came to Kankakee from near Fairfield a year ago, died Saturday evening at a local nursing home.
The body was taken to Rehr, Jones and Kaiser Funeral Home, and will be removed to Crippen Funeral Home at Cisne, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Johnsonville Masonic Lodge will be in charge of services, and burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at Flora.
Mr. Sons was born Sept. 7 1874 at Rinard, Ill. He was a farmer in Fairfield area before coming to Kankakee. He leaves two sons Isaac Sons of Straughn, Ind., and Lester Sons of Kankakee; two daughters , Mrs. Esther Abramowicz of Manteno and Mrs. Melvina Bell of Kankakee, and a sister, Mrs. Nancy Rivers of Burbank, Calif.
His first wife, Mary Elizabeth, died in 1911, and his second wife, Lucy, died in 1938.
