Obituary
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 26, 2007 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Mildred Sonnier Delhomme, 80, who passed away peacefully at 10:35 PM on Friday, March 23, 2007 in Cornerstone South Lafayette.

Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Reverend Gilbert J. Dutel, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Natalie McCall, Christy Delhomme Ogea and Cortney Delhomme. Lectors will be Barbie Delhomme and Gina Delhomme. Vocalists Jodi Bollich and Raymond J. Hebert accompanied on the organ by Tom Neil, on the violin by Lauren Baker and on the trumpet by Wil Green will sing "Amazing Grace", "Isaiah 49", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "I Can Only Imagine", and "Wind Beneath My Wings".

Survivors include her two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Myra) Guidry and Mrs. Kenneth (Cecile) Credeur both of Scott; three sons, Jerry Joseph Delhomme, wife, Theresa of Scott, Michael Delhomme and wife, Barbie, of New Iberia and Terry James Delhomme and his wife, Gina, of Lafayette; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Dugas and Eunice Domingue, both of Scott; two brother in laws, Larry Hebert and Easton Domingue, both of Scott; and two sister-in laws, Mable Lantier and Marjorie Sonnier, both of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Camille J. "C.J." Delhomme, her parents, Elie "Greo" Sonnier and the former Cecile Lacy; six sisters, Verna Mae Ancelet, Lydia Roger, Philomene Lantier, Bella Lanerie, Milda Guidry, Etta Sonnier; and six brothers, Alphe Sonnier, Leon Sonnier, Leo Sonnier, Dalton Sonnier, Early Sonnier and Alexson Sonnier.

A native of Scott and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Mrs. Delhomme retired to the Scott Community for the past thirty years. A very loyal wife, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Mrs. Delhomme was an extremely dedicated and hard working woman. Along with her husband, C. J. Delhomme, she was the "backbone" of Delhomme's Grocery, Park and Shop and La Boutique Supermarket for a combined forty years.

Pallbearers will be Troy Albarado, Blake Albarado, Shane Albarado, Corey Albarado, Chadwick Credeur, Gregory Credeur, T. J. Delhomme and Richard Lantier.

Martin & Castille Funeral Home of Lafayette, Louisiana were chosen to help with the arrangements.
