SCOTT - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Jeanne Sonnier, 84, the former Jeanne Domingue, who died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at her residence in Scott, La.
Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery Mausoleum.
The Rev. Gilbert J. Dutel, pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, soloist, will sing for the funeral services, "I'll Never Forget You", "Be Not Afraid", "Lord, Here I Am", and "J Irai La Voir Un Jour".
Born Nov. 6, 1920, Jeanne was a native and lifelong resident of Scott. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a parishioner of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church of Scott and member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Ladies' Alter Society as well as the St. Anne Society.
Survivors include her daughter, Jeanette S. Lanclos and her husband, Glenn, of Scott; her son, Ewell J. Sonnier and wife, Judy, of Broussard; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Sonnier, of Scott; five grandchildren, Ryan Lanclos, Brad Sonnier, Chad Sonnier, all of Scott, Rachel Melancon of Mire, and Roxanna Champagne, of Cecilia; three great-grandchildren, Ronnie Dayl Sonnier, Elizabeth Sonnier and Maci Champagne; one sister, Enola D. Lantier, of Scott; and one brother, Easton Domingue and his wife, Eunice, of Scott.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dalton P. Sonnier; her son, Russell "Pierre" Sonnier; her brothers, Esta Domingue, Wilton Domingue, Lee J. Domingue, Paul Ludovic Domingue and Isaac Domingue; her sisters, Laura D. Comeaux and Anna Mae Domingue; and her parents, Romain Domingue and Euphemie Mouton Domingue.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Sonnier, Chad Sonnier, Ryan Lanclos, Derrick Melancon, Johnny Champagne and Ewell Sonnier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Easton Domingue and Glenn Lanclos.
Readings will be done by Rami Lanclos and gift bearers will be Roxanna Champagne, Elizabeth Sonnier, Rachael Lanclos and Maci Champagne.
Arrangements were entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home Inc. of Scott, Louisiana.
