She graduated from high school in 1938 in Sayre. She then graduated from Business School in Binghamton. She married Claude E. Kast on Oct. 19, 1946, in Ellisburg, and the couple lived in the Woodville area most of their married life. He died May 14, 1999. Following his death, Mrs. Kast sold their home and moved to Springbrook Apartments in Pulaski in 1999 before moving to Clay to live with her son.
