Roger Arnold Sollars, 71, Denver, formerly of Wichita, Kan., died December 31, 2013 at Presbyterian/St. Lukes Hospital from a sudden illness.

Born November 25, 1942 in St. Joseph, to Arnold L. Sollars and Mary L. (Creek) Sollars.

He attended schools in St. Joseph and Hutchinson, Kan.

He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Hutchinson and Wichita for many years.

He loved being outdoors in the Colorado mountains or attending his favorite football game of the Kansas City Chiefs or the Denver Broncos. He was an avid painter and photographer and had wonderful artistic ability. He loved working with computers and always designing greeting cards and special photo gifts for friends and family.

He is survived by his mother, Mary L. (Creek) Sollars of Wichita; two children: daughter, Carrie Sollars Rodman and her husband Roger of Big Spring, Texas; and son, Len A. Sollars and wife Irene of Denver. He had three grandchildren, Ricky Ramirez of Cisco, Texas; MM3 Erica Ramirez of Everett, Wash. of the USS Nimitz CVN 68; Rebecca Ramirez of Big Spring; and Janielle Tafoya of Colorado; and great-granddaughter, Abrianna Tafoya, also of Colorado; numerous cousins and family members of St. Joseph.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold L. Sollars of Wichita.

Roger's body will be donated to Life Science Care for further student studies.
