Ray Lloyd Soderborg, 75, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away November 20, 1997.

He was born July 25, 1922 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George Hyrum and Florence May Lloyd Soderborg. Married Josie Valentine Thelin in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on December 1, 1961. Ray was raised in South Salt Lake, graduated from Granite High School and the University of Utah Law School. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy. He served an LDS Mission to Hawaii. Ray was employed with the Internal Revenue Service for many years. He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many capacities. His hobbies included golfing, bowling, public speaking, raising pine trees and reading. He was known for his good judgment and clever wit.Survivors: wife, Josie , Sandy, Utah; children, Nathan (Sondra), Ann Arbor, Michigan; Philip (Lisa), Englewood, Colorado; Andrew (Krista), Taylorsville, Utah; Joseph, Logan, Utah; and Joannah, Sandy, Utah; grandchildren, Alissa, Seth, Heather, Sarah, Joshua and Hannah; brothers, Lloyd and Jack; sister, Bessie Soderborg Clark. Preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Don and Alvin.

Funeral services Saturday, November 22, 1997 at 11 a.m. in the Granite Ridge LDS Ward Chapel 3100 East 9575 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary 8090 So. State Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Granite Cemetery.
