He was the son of Luis B. Soares, a dairy farmer and Maria dos Anjos Ornellas, who both immigrated from Terceira, Azores in 1900. He had a twin brother named John. Frank died of tubercular bronchitis at 1 year, 10 1/2 months of age. (His twin brother also died at a young age, in 1902 or 1903, but when he died, and where he is buried remain unknown.)
His sister, Joaquina Soares (1906-1906) is also buried at this cemetery. (Another sister named Joaquina was born in 1907, and a brother, also given the name Frank, was born in 1904.)
In 1911 the rest of the family moved out to the San Joaquin Valley, in California.
