Alfred Leon Snyder, 80, died Monday, at Lookout Memorial Hospital in Spearfish, SD. He was born February 19, 1910, at Trenton, MO, to Alby and Elizabeth Snyder.
He moved to Folsom, SD, and was in partnership with his brother in ranching in 1932.
Alfred married Lottie Edith Flier in March 1933 in Farmingdale, SD. They ranched near Buffalo and Brookings, SD, and Miles City, MT, before moving to Sundance, WY, in 1959, where they owned and operated Dean's Motel for 16 years before retiring.
Alfred was a charter member of the Spearfish Senior Citizen Center.
Survivors include his wife, of Sundance; three sons, Leon Snyder of Rapid City, Gerald Snyder of Sturgis, and Gary Snyder of Sioux City, IA; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Ishmael of Laredo, MO, and Opal Bargar of Meadville, MO.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford; and a sister, Cleo.
Services for Alfred will be Friday at the United Methodist Church in Sundance, with the Rev. Lowell Karnes officiating. Burial will be in Green Mountain Cemetery near Sundance. A memorial has been established. Arrangements are with Fidler-Roberts Northeastern Wyoming Funeral Chapel of Sundance.
